Who We Are

Recover Colorado is an addiction treatment center located in the Denver Metro area, nestled between downtown Denver and Boulder in a quiet area of Westminster, Colorado. Recover treats females and males 18 years of age and older who suffer from addiction, alcoholism, and mental illness. Our highly experienced staff consists of doctors, psychiatrists, master’s level therapists, and certified addiction specialists, comprising over a half-century of addiction treatment and co-occurring disorders. With our tailored clinical program, we are uniquely positioned to treat those who chronically relapse, as well as those who suffer from addiction and mental illness (also known as dual-diagnosis), with a unique and proven approach.

Our Story

The Recover name was created by a young woman named Sophia whose father is a recovered addict with over 21 years of sobriety. Fortunately, months before Sophia was born her father got sober and she never had to witness the devastation and destruction of a parent in active addiction. Sophia was the motivation for her father to finally get sober. The Recover mission and vision hit very close to Sophia’s heart, as she has seen those closest to her Recover from addiction and alcoholism, achieve sustainable sobriety, and go on to live meaningful and rewarding lives.

What makes us different?

Tailored Treatment Strategies

Recover is the first, and only, addiction treatment program to deliver clinical care specific to each patient’s most effective learning style. This approach is combined with our custom curriculum and is interwoven with each patient’s diagnosis, objectives, and goals. This clinical process, along with our various recovery methods offered, truly redefines the term “patient-centered care.

METHODOLOGY

We tailor your treatment experience and address the core issues, so you stay sober. Our intensive and customized clinical approach gives patients the ability to address their underlying “core” issues, a requirement to achieve sustainable sobriety.

Assess, Uncover, Address, Recover. The hallmarks of our program

Recover’s approach to addiction and alcoholism

Lifelong, Empowering Sobriety

Assess & Evaluate

Successful treatment must begin with an accurate diagnosis.

Phase one is when we begin our individualized work with new patients in an intensive, initial one-on-one session. This initial meeting consists of an intensive psycho-social and pre-screen assessment performed by the patient’s newly assigned primary therapist. From this meeting, we perform a physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual evaluation to take a comprehensive look at the patient as a “whole”, and their family and history. This is the most important step as this is the foundation upon which the entire treatment plan is built. For the patients who have been to prior treatments, this is when they begin to realize how dramatically different we are from other treatment centers. A patient must have complete trust in the therapeutic relationship with their therapist to open up, uncover, and address their core issues. This is the phase where this trusting relationship begins. Without establishing a 100% trusting patient/therapist relationship, the necessary work simply will not get done.

We complete a comprehensive pre-screen evaluation and biopsychosocial assessment through various procedures that may include the following:

  • Biopsychosocial Assessment
  • Psychiatric Evaluation
  • Medical Evaluation
  • Chronic Pain and Chiropractic Assessment
  • Nutritional Evaluation
  • Suicide Risk Assessment
Establish Treatment Goals and Objectives

"A goal without a plan is just a wish”- Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

Once the extensive research is completed in phase one, in phase two we identify the core issues and match the clinical modalities that will best address them. During this phase, we also create a list of treatment objectives and goals for the patient. We show them the necessary tools they will need to arrive at these goals and thus overcome their issues in a healthy and non-destructive manner. This step is practiced daily throughout the entire program and is continuously refined by the primary therapist until they arrive at the underlying issues. Simply put, we peel back the layers of the onion through various treatment approaches until we uncover the underlying issues that are continuing to create self-defeating behaviors that lead to usage, relapse, and active addiction.

We complete a comprehensive pre-screen evaluation and bio-psychosocial assessment through various procedures that may include the following:

  • Individual Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Experiential Therapy
  • Integrative Family Therapy
  • Marriage and Couples Therapy
  • *EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)
  • Co-dependency program
  • Grief and Loss
  • Trauma
  • Relapse Prevention
  • *Chronic Pain evaluation
  • *Chiropractic Care
  • Dual Diagnosis
  • Massage Therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Team building techniques
  • Anger Management
Design and Customize

Traditional treatment has a 94% failure rate. Recover lowers that statistic one patient at a time.

After collecting the information from phases one and two, in phase three we design a tailored treatment plan that addresses the patients’ specific needs. Through the previous intensive individual work, we can be certain that we address all core issues we have uncovered. We are now able to create a treatment plan and a list of measurables that accurately assess the patient’s progress. A major differentiator of Recover is our ability to offer a variety of continuing care plans that best suit the patient in their recovery lifestyle once they complete treatment. Traditional treatment centers typically offer only one. By being as specialized as we are, and offering a twelve-step approach, as well as other recovery lifestyles, Recover can deliver higher success rates by being truly patient-centered in our approach.

Treatment plans may include the following:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Group Counseling
  • Psycho-Education
  • Holistic Treatments
  • Family Counseling and Workshops
  • Sober Companionships
  • Nutritional Counseling
Implementation

“A plan is only as good as its execution”

In phase four with the implementation of the individualized treatment plan in place, the patient begins to see the progress they are making in treatment. The patient starts to gain knowledge and insight about themselves. Through this rigorous self-evaluation comes freedom from within. During this phase, the Recover clinical team recognizes the changes in various aspects of the patient's mind, body, and spirit. Every member of our clinical team and staff is committed to helping people overcome their addiction and have the opportunity to live the life they have always dreamed about.

Analyze, Collaborate, Re-Evaluate

“Patient evaluations never stop, neither does our approach”

Phase five allows the clinical team to constantly evaluate and reassess the patient's treatment plan. This is performed during our daily clinical staff meetings. The patient’s primary therapist can collaborate with every member of the clinical team to analyze the progress being made. This open collaboration ensures that the clinical team has recognized, addressed, and dealt with the "whole" patient and that the patient is utilizing the tools they have learned through their treatment plan healthily and effectively. Lastly, Recover develops a continuing care plan that best suits the patient’s lifestyle and belief systems. Where other treatment centers offer one cookie cutter approach, Recover offers numerous. We base the entire treatment plan on the patient, versus forcing the patient to fit into “our plan.”
